Rustic Light Roast
Luz Marina Trujillo, a third-generation Colombian coffee grower, lives on Vashon Island part time. She transported the techniques, mastered by her family in Colombia, to her farm in Costa Rica. On her Costa Rican farm, she grows a combination of intensive shaded coffee intermixed with natural forest to ensure the preservation of water quality, and she set aside land next to her to help preserve the forest. The austere style of Santa Elena Estate Coffee or the 'Queen of the Collection,' is as distinctive, and has a personality as individual as that of its owner. The cup is light, crisp, and refreshing, like the high mountain air of Tarrazu. Softy nutty flavor. Pairs nicely with desserts, especially chocolate. Direct trade. -
