In Ayurveda, late winter and spring are considered kapha season because the qualities of Kapha dosha are heightened in the environment. Balancing Kapha at this time is a great way to work with the energies of spring to support optimal balance and well-being. These bright red persistent fruit hips join us in September and October usually in the pacific Northwest but seems to be earlier these days in some places depending on the weather conditions and location. These hips are, of course, from lasts fall’s harvest but they remain fragrant and delicious! Use for making shrubs, tea, jams, body care, and more with plenty of traditional uses for health. All three of these lovely plants were used by the eclectics at one time or another. This lovely, calming, and tasty diaphoretic tea is made with organic elder flowers, yarrow, and linden flowers. Locally sourced ingredients -  Folklore of the Elder: Gifts of water, beer, milk, cake, or bread would often be found around elder giving thanks, and the Celts sometimes planted elder trees on the graves of their loved ones, believing that blossoms were evidence of happy souls.
